Guidelines for Applying for The School Days Foundation Student Scholarships

PROGRAM GOALS

Dr. Eric Thomas' commitment to students’ success and well-being is at the core of the foundation’s mission, this scholarship allows recipients to benefit from that vision by: 

  • Guiding students from educational vulnerability to academic stability and success.

  • Maintaining a balance of financial accountability and academic progress for students to reflect on their growth each year, both personally and academically.

  • Structured support system for students to persist through the challenges of academia, equipping students with the tools needed to graduate and make lasting contributions to their communities.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum GPA Requirement:
    - Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.

  • High School Diploma No Longer Required:
    - A high school diploma is no longer mandatory. Whether you as the applicant earned a GED, aged out, or did not complete high school, you are still eligible — as long as they are currently enrolled in college.

  • Community Contribution:
    - Recipients are encouraged to contribute 1–2 hours weekly to academic support activities.

  • Scholarship Coverage:
    - As a Foundation, we will cover up to 75% of tuition costs. Recipients are responsible for the remaining 25%, which may be managed through payment plans, additional financial aid, and/or employment. 

PLEASE NOTE

  • Only completed applications with all required documentation will be considered.

  • A completed application package does not guarantee acceptance into the Scholarship Program. 

  • If selected for this scholarship, you will be required to consent to a background check and sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.

  • After review of your application, some additional items, such as a writing sample, are required.
